It's no secret: due to the 7-years long recession in Greece, which has resulted in a 25% slash in the county's GDP and a 25% unemployment rate, Greeks have been migrating abroad en masse, in search of prosperous employment opportunities and better day-to-day life conditions, away from the current uncertainties.
We're talking about approx. 300.000 greeks who have migrated over the last 6 years, mostly the young and well educated. They are, predominantly, risk-takers, who are seeking opportunities that fit their life dreams and aspirations.
HOWEVER, I HAVE DECIDED TO STAY HOME, AND FIGHT MY FIGHTS IN GREECE.
Having already spent 10 years of my academic and professional life in the UK during the 80's and 90's, I know that Greece, despite its setbacks, is a BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY. With abundant sunshine for 7-8 months every year, one can find plenty of motives to enjoy life.
That's why I decided to tell the world about what "being Greek" means and why Greece is such a blessed and mythical travel destination.
I'm standing my ground, in my country, with my family: and that's NOT negotiable.
