I just felt like it. So I grabbed my HD cam, and off I went to take a video walk around the blocks, in one of the northern suburbs of Athens: Holargos.
Athens is not a pedestrian's friend: as a matter of fact, the city is pedestrian-hostile. And it's jam-packed with cars and motorcycles. And lots of ugly-looking blocks of flats.
But it's the place where I live, and I love it. Its a vibrant city. With lots of opportunities. With huge degrees of freedom.
And you still have a sense of safety when you walk around its neighborhoods: you're not afraid of getting mugged or harassed.
And, no matter what "they" say, we've still got the sunshine!
And the endless summertime...
