What greeka.com says
Voula is a town and former municipality in East Attica, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit.
Voula suburb is 16 km south of the city centre. It is located on the Saronic Gulf coast, at the southwestern foot of the Hymettus mountain. Adjacent coast towns are Glyfada to the northwest and Vouliagmeni to the south. The Greek National Road 91 (Athens - Sounio) passes through Voula.
One of the largest hospitals in the Athens conurbation, "Asklipieio", lies in the northern part of Voula. It is served by the southern terminus of the Athens Tram lines 3 and 5, Asklipieio Voulas. Voula also has a Beach, a Marina, and a nice Town hall. Voula Beach has also been awarded the Blue Flag, certifying its excellent waters.
For many years now, Voula beach remains one of the most popular beaches in the suburbs of Athens. It is found 18km south of Athens in a lovely coastal location with huge tourist development. It is a known spot for the Athenians basically due to the well-organized coast. There are many cafeterias, taverns and beach bars lined at the beachfront offering to visitors the best service. The beach is fully organized with numerous umbrellas, sundecks and some hotels around. There is also a sports centre with training lessons for all ages as well as a volleyball and tennis court. It is a residence area and the beach can be easily accessed by tram and bus from the centre of Athens.
